It's hard to shake the fascination with speakeasies of the Prohibition era. Modern bars draw from a rich pool of storied tales about the 1920's speakeasy, an illegal cultural fixture that made its impact on society. 

After the Prohibition-era, the secrecy of the speakeasies were no longer necessary, but the allure and style continued to be popular throughout the decades and have continued their influence today.
