What Are The Best Coffee Cocktails?

Coffee lover? Cocktail lover? Combine the two with the best coffee cocktails in the world.

The coffee culture and mixology culture have a lot in common.

They both are centered on the creation of exquisite drinks.

They both started on the outskirts of culture and have found themselves more appreciated by mainstream culture.

They both maintain their own unique identities despite mainstream culture.

And the best in the business tend to serve the best drinks with a healthy dose of sarcastic passive-aggressive sassiness.

So whether you are a barista or a mixologist, these drinks combine the best of both worlds. Prepare for drinks that incorporate the most widely accepted drug with the most widely exploited secret habit. Here are the best coffee cocktails in the world and the recipes so you can make them at home.

What Are The Best Coffee Cocktails?

That's right. Booze and Coffee. A match made by my ridiculously hungover uncle and a bunch of other secret drunks. Here are a few easy cocktail recipes to elevate your coffee brewing and home bartending game.

Espresso Martini

You will need:

  • .25 Ounces of Simple Syrup
  • 1 Ounce of Fresh Espresso
  • .5 Ounces of Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 Ounces of Vodka
  • 3 Espresso Beans

Pour your Simple Syrup, Espresso, Coffee Liqueur, and Vodka into a Boston Shaker with Ice. Shake vigorously with short, quick shakes. Strain into a glass, add the three espresso beans in the center.

And now your body doesn't know if it should run a marathon or pass out. Congrats.

Cold Brew Negroni

  • .75 Ounces of Sweet Vermouth
  • .75 Ounces of Approtivo Bitters
  • .5 Ounces of Coffee Liqueur
  • 1.5 Ounces of Gin
  • Orange Twist

Pour your Sweet Vermouth, Approtivo Bitters, Coffee Liqueur, and Gin into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir for a few seconds. Twist your orange peel over the glass and place it on the side of the glass.

Warning: You may find yourself excessively talking with your hands after drinking this Italian cocktail.

Irish Coffee

You will need:

  • 1 Ounce of Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Table Spoons of Brown Sugar
  • 6 Ounces of Hot Brewed Coffee
  • 1.5 Ounces of Irish Whiskey

Start by brewing a cup of coffee. While the coffee brews, pour your heavy whipping cream into a measuring cup and whisk it vigorously until it becomes fluffy. Put your two tablespoons of brown sugar into a warm mug.

Pour your coffee into the mug and stir. Then pour your Irish Whiskey into the mug and stir. Lastly, gently pour your heavy whipping cream into the coffee.

If you want to try your hand at latte art, you could try to make a cloud, or a sheep without legs in your Irish coffee.

Cold Fashioned

You will need:

  • 1.5 Ounces of Coffee Liqueur
  • 1.5 Ounces of Rye Whiskey
  • Orange Twist

Place Ice in a glass. Pour in your Coffee Liqueur and Rye Whiskey. Twist the orange peel over the glass and place it in the glass. Simple enough anyone could make it. Cool enough name to still sound sophisticated.  What else do you want?

Dominicana

You will need:

  • 1.5 Ounces of Coffee Liqueur
  • 1.5 Ounces of Aged Rum
  • .25 Ounces of Simple Syrup
  • 1 Ounce of Heavy Whipping Cream

Pour your Coffee Liqueur,  Aged Rum, and Simple Syrup into a mixing glass with ice. Stir vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass. Layer heavy whipping cream using the back of a bar spoon.

If you're not really feeling up to the heavy whipping cream to make the drink look sexy, use the reddiwhip you are sure to have in the fridge. Just be sure not to miss the glass.
