What Are The Best Drinks To Make For St. Patrick’s Day?

You're throwing a St. Patrick's Day party. You've got your green. You've got your pot of gold. You've got your short friend pegged as your resident leprechaun. You even got some green apples for good measure.

All you need is to get hammered in the classiest way you know how. You have to only drink Irish themed drinks to pay homage to some Saint. We don't really even know what this day is about. We just know it's socially acceptable to drink til we're green and that's ok with us.

What Are The Best Drinks To Make For St. Patrick’s Day?

You want more than just jello shots and green beer this year.  You are here for St. Patrick's Day cocktail recipes. Here are a few easy cocktails for the home bartender to get you in the Irish spirit(s) this St. Patrick's Day.

 Irish Coffee

You will need:

  • 1 Ounce of Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Table Spoons of Brown Sugar
  • 6 Ounces of Hot Coffee
  • 1.5 Ounces of Irish Whiskey

Start by brewing a cup of coffee. While the coffee brews, pour your heavy whipping cream into a measuring cup and whisk it vigorously until it becomes fluffy. Put your two tablespoons of brown sugar into a warm mug.

Pour your coffee into the mug and stir. Then pour your Irish Whiskey into the mug and stir. Lastly, gently pour your heavy whipping cream into the coffee.

Nothing says good morning and "I can't care today" like coffee and booze.

Irish Cola

You will need:

  • 1 Ounce of Irish Cream
  • 1 Ounce of Irish Whiskey
  • 4 Ounces of Coke

Pour your Irish Cream, and Irish Whiskey into a Boston Shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour your drink into a glass with ice using a strainer. Then pour in your coke. Simple enough you can still be a home mixologist when you can barely see straight.

Irish Old Fashioned

You will need:

  • 2 Ounces of Irish Whiskey
  • .25 Ounces of Simple Syrup
  • 2 Dashes of Bitters
  • Lemon Twist

Pour your Irish Whiskey and Simple Syrup into a Boston Shaker and add two dashes of Bitters. Shake vigorously and strain into a glass. Take a lemon peel and twist it over the glass. Then add the lemon peel to the glass.

Immediately give to your most pretentious friend that wants to look sophisticated.

Irish Buck

You will need:

  • 1.5 Ounces of Irish Whiskey
  • 5 Ounces of Ginger Ale
  • 1 Ounce of Lime Juice
  • Lime Wedge

Start by pouring your Irish Whiskey, Ginger Ale, and Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice into a glass. Stir your drink gently. Then squeeze the lime wedge over the drink and drop the lime in.

If for whatever reason you run out of Irish Whiskey, this drink couldn't give a buck. Just put in any other liquor and add that to the front.

Only have bourbon? Great. Make yourself a Kentucky Buck.

Irish Godfather

You will need:

  • 2 Dashes of Bitters
  • .25 Ounces of Amaretto
  • 2 Ounces of Irish Whiskey
  • Orange Twist

Start by adding 2 dashes of bitters to the bottom of the glass. Then add in your Amaretto and your Irish Whiskey. Lastly, add your ice and stir. Twist your orange peel over the glass and place it on the edge of the glass.

Just know, the more you stir, the more diluted your drink will be. So don't stir too much.
