Strawberry Margarita Recipe

Who doesn't love strawberries? Strawberry margaritas are one of the most popular types of margarita, and it's not difficult to see why. They are sweet and delicious and can be enjoyed any time of the year.
Due to their popularity, strawberry margaritas are typically enjoyed with friends during the summer since they are a light, refreshing drink option for any occasion.

Strawberry Margarita Ingredients

The following ingredients are essential to make this delicious strawberry margarita.
  • Strawberries: Fresh strawberries should be used with this recipe. Frozen strawberries are an option, but they can water down the drink since they are frozen.
  • Orange Liqueur: For this recipe, Triple Sec works great with all of the ingredients. However, if you prefer another option, feel free to use it.
  • Tequila: Any type of tequila flows well with the other ingredients.
  • Honey: While other recipes may use agave nectar to sweeten the mixture, honey is a tastier alternative that adds extra flavor. However, agave nectar or simple syrup can be used in its place.

How To Make Strawberry Margarita

This Strawberry Margarita recipe can be enjoyed either on the rocks or frozen. If you want to freeze it, add ice to the mixture before blending. The amount of ice you need to add will depend on the consistency you want. The more ice, the thicker the drink.

Single-Serving - Strawberry Margarita Recipe

Everyone loves making the Strawberry Margarita since it only takes approximately 5 minutes to prepare.
  • Margarita salt or kosher salt
  • Lime wedges
  • ¼ pound fresh strawberries hulled
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp triple sec
If you wish to coat the rim of your margarita glass with salt, run a wedge of lime around the mouth of each glass and dip it into salt. Perform this step before the others, so the margarita mixture doesn't have to sit in the blender.
Hull the strawberries and add them into a blender. You can slice them in half before tossing them in. Combine the strawberries with the triple sec, honey, lime juice, and tequila and blend until smooth. If you wish to have a frozen margarita, add a cup of ice to the blender.
If you are not creating a frozen margarita, add a few cubes to the prepared margarita glass. Otherwise, pour in and garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!

Pitcher Serving - Strawberry Margarita Recipe

This recipe is one of the favorites since it is very easy to drink and yields four servings, which is excellent for a party!
  • Margarita salt or kosher salt
  • Lime wedges
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries hulled
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 2/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
Similar to the single-serving recipe, coat the rim of your margarita glasses with salt beforehand by running a wedge of lime around the rim and dipping it into your preferred type of salt. If you'd like, you can place the glasses in the freezer to chill.
Since you are using more strawberries in this recipe, make sure to cut them in half after you hull the entire pound of fresh strawberries. This will help your blender mix the ingredients much easier and have a more consistent texture. Add in the lime juice, tequila, honey, and triple sec.
Add ice into your margarita glasses and pour. Additionally, you can blend five cups of ice with the mixture to create a tasty frozen strawberry margarita.
